Amazon.com – Chosen at Nightfall by C.C. Hunter
Genre: YA/Fiction/Fantasy
Plot: When Kylie Galen entered Shadow Falls Camp, she left her old life behind forever and discovered a world more magical than she ever imagined. A place where you’re two best friends can be a witch and a vampire…and where love doesn’t happen the way you’d expect.
When Kylie’s most powerful enemy returns to destroy her once and for all, there’s only one way to stop him―to step into her full powers and make a stunning transformation that will amaze everyone around her. But her journey won’t be complete until she makes one final choice…which guy to love. Should she choose to the werewolf who broke her heart but will give anything to win her back, or the half-fae who ran from their attraction before they had a chance? Everything she’s learned at Shadow Falls has been preparing her for this moment―when her fate will be revealed and her heart claimed forever.
Opinion: Ahhhhhh! The end of the end, and it feels tragic indeed. *Sigh*…how will I go on without this series?! I just wasn’t ready for it to be over quite so soon, but alas here I am. I sincerely hope you guys have ACTUALLY purchased book 1 in this series by now. I think the only thing to truly dislike about this series is that you will read it way too quickly, because you wouldn’t DARE put these books down for meaningless things like human interaction or eating and sleeping. HAH…you would never.
Now remember guys…SPOILERS.
As Kylie adjusts to her decision to leave Shadow Falls to live with her grandfather and fellow chameleons, she finds herself missing her friends and the comfort that the school brings. Though her main reason for leaving was to better understand what she is and to learn to control her powers, another more somber reason was because of a were named Lucas that broke her heart. But even as Kylie starts to learn new things about herself, the threat of Mario coming for her becomes too strong and she is forced to go back to Shadow Falls where she can be better protected. Now Kylie and those closest to her must find a way to keep her safe, while also dealing with their own issues at hand. In this last installment, the reader follows Kylie as she finds the answers to all her questions and decides who she really wants to be with.
So let’s start off with something negative. Yes? PERFECT! So…just out of curiosity…WHAT THE HELL was up with that ending?? I was literally reading along and enjoying my little travels in fantasy world, just minding my own business, when all of a sudden that nice hill I was walking over turned into a cliff that I just tumbled the f**k off of. I’m sure you could imagine my surprise as the whole Mario scenario went from this to that, and then to a sudden boring nothing. This should have been an EPIC ending! Something incredible should have happened! Kylie could have unleashed an insanely amazing power on Mario, demons could have come out of the underworld and sucked out his soul, Kylie could have sucked out his soul! But instead I was given something completely downplayed and just…boring. Not only did Kylie not even get to kill Mario, but she told her mother all about the supernatural lifestyle she now lives and it all seemed WAY unrealistic. I mean obviously the supernatural thing is unrealistic…but you know what I mean. I feel like just because of this ending, I am going to have to knock my rating down a star. My love for this series is strong Yoda, but that ending just put another crack in my cold black heart.
Okay, positivity! THANK YOU SATAN, Lucas finally got his shenanigans sorted and Kylie forgave him. *Sigh*…ahhh…young love. How touching. How romantic. It’s just what I needed to not completely give up on the last book in this series. I think the author did a great job of once again showing how strong the character of Kylie is by not letting her forgive Lucas so easily. Her character really stayed strong and didn’t let him get away with anything, and that made me just adore her even more! It seems that all the characters we loved during this series finds themselves a step closer to a happy ending, and that’s really all you can ask for after the craziness they went through. I really liked that another chameleon entered Shadow Falls, especially because that other chameleon has FINALLY gotten Derek away from Kylie. That kid just needed to relax!
Though it is sadly over, THANKFULLY there is a side series called Shadow Falls: After Dark that follows our feisty vampire Della. I for one am kind of burnt out on the whole vampire thing, but I will probably have to give it a try. In regards to this series though, I just adore it completely and will probably be reading it again in the future. You guys HAVE to go out and get this series, I’m not kidding. You will be so happy you took my wonderful advice.
I am glad you like this book though to be honest it always felt like too much fluff for me. Regardless, your review is making me itch to re-read the series again. And yes Lucas and Kylie was my ship too, though not at first. What about you? Did you always ship her with Lucas?

I totally always saw her with Lucas more so than Derek. I think Derek is just a little to sensitive, I think Lucas is much more suited for Kylie.
