3 Things About Me:

1. I am currently living in California, which is where I have always been living, but it is my serious and undying wish to ESCAPE! I know I know, great weather and all…but really. No thank you.

2. I just turned 25 and realized that from now on, all birthdays will be surrounded by sadness and old sad people. I am SO stoked!

3. I have really long wavy hair and the bottom part of my head is shaved, all the way around, but you can’t even tell when my hair is down. Sweet, I know. I’m like a proper lady by day and a rebellious little metal head by night.

I obviously love deceiving people 😉

Book Pandamonium’s Questions:

1. Which do you prefer: winter break  or spring break?

Considering that I do not have the luxury of partaking in these breaks anymore, I will reflect back on my adolescent days.

*Immense reflecting*

Winter break…come on dude…presents.

2. What was your least favorite book of 2016?

UGH! Firebolt (The Dragonian Series Book 1) by Adrienne Woods. That writing seriously hurt my soul. It felt like the book gods were thrusting a rusted serrated knife into the depths of my creative happiness and just twisting it around so that all of my love for words and reading could just die a sad and pathetic kind of unfortunate and bleak life where I had to live the rest of my days bored and wishing for some excitement like an unnecessary and annoying run-on sentence that has absolutely no commas…

…I win the dramatic award for 2016.

3. If you had the chance to talk to a celebrity, who would you want it to be?

How about we trade the talk for a night of drinking with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. I could totally die happy after that s**tshow of a night.

4. What’s your most anticipated movie for 2017?

A Cure for Wellness. Just CREEP me out and get me all excited why don’t you!

5. Weird: Do you have any unusual talents?

Sarcasm.

It’s like…did she say sarcasm because she was being serious about that being her talent, or was her choosing to say sarcasm her actually being sarcastic? Confusing, I know.

My Questions for You:

  1. If you could fall into any book world, which one would it be?
  2. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
  3. What is one of your best childhood memories?
  4. How do you feel about jumping out of a plane or bungee jumping?
  5. What is your favorite genre of music?

The Questions:

1. Why did you start a blog in the first place?

My mom was actually the person that gave me the idea to start a book reviewing blog a little over a year ago. I had no idea that there was THIS much of a book following on the internet and social media, it honestly blew me away. I looked into blogging about books that I read in my spare time, started a blog, and like THAT I had various authors contacting me asking to read/review their work. So here we are.

2. What is your favorite book?

I truly hate getting asked this question. It is literally impossible for me to choose just one book because I have enjoyed SO many. I usually just say Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher because I had read this when I was in my preteen years and it left a dark hole in my heart. It is one of the few books that has left a serious imprint on my mind, and for that I will always love it.

3. What do you dislike the most?

Unsarcastic sarcasm.

4. What is your favorite food item at the mall?

? What? The mall, Really? Is this a thing..?

5. What is your favorite pastime?

Ignoring the world and reading of course.

I also like going out with my guy friends and dancing really weirdly around them until they get completely weirded out and embarrassed by me and just leave. I like that.

SISTERHOOD OF THE WORLD BLOGGERS AWARD

sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-tag-image-014So happy to be participating in so many blogging awards! Thank you again TheBookishKhaleesi for nominating me ❤

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.

2. Put the award logo on your blog.

3. Answer the ten questions sent to you.

4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.

5. Nominate ten blogs.

The Questions from TheBookishKhaleesi:

1. What book got you into reading?

That…is a really good question. I think it might be Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt, which I read in fourth grade along with my class. When your that age, there is NOT a lot of school reading material that you enjoy, so the fact that I was way into this story when it was assigned by my teacher must tell you something.

2. Who are your top 3 auto-buy authors?

Usually when I see books by Laurie Halse Anderson, Lauren Oliver, Alyson Noel, Meg Cabot, Sarah Dessen, or Elizabeth Chandler I automatically read the description. I know that I have always liked what these woman write about and their style of writing. Two new authors that I think are always going to be on my radar now are Evan Ronan and Robert Pence. Granted, Evan Ronan was the first author to send me a book for review, so I may be biased, but he has a fantastic way of making borderline psychotic events feel comforting and exciting. Robert Pence has EXTREMELY unique ideas for his books and his characters and writing are so memorable.

3. What book are you most excited for to be released?

There are more books that are already released that I am excited to get, but I have been seeing Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon around EVERYWHERE and have been wanting to read it.

4. Who is your favorite fictional character?

I love snarky and sarcastic characters, I think they have the most personality compared to a character who says the same things as everyone else. My favorite series for SO LONG has been the 1-800-Where-Are-You series by Meg Cabot. The main character, Jessica Mastriani, is stubborn and feisty in the entire series. I also loved Morpheus from the Splintered series by A.G. Howard, and of course Jace from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.

5. Do you prefer paperback or hardcover?

Well I mean paperback is cheaper 🙂 I used to always want hardcover books because they stay nice for longer, but being such an avid reader (and having to adult) you learn to go the cheaper route.

6. Would you rather read a standalone or a series?

I think this definitely depends on the book. There have been plenty of books that I have read where I am left wondering WHY there isn’t a second or third, but there have been so many that only needed the one. I guess I prefer a series so that I can continue enjoying the characters and plot.

7. If you could have dinner with your favorite author, who would it be?

Probably J.K. Rowling because she made my childhood amazing.

8. How do you like to read? Physical or eReader?

Physical is what I prefer, but for book reviewing you need to be an eReader. I mean there are definite pros to being an ereader like the books being there instantly, better for reading at night, and all your books are right there. But nothing beats an actual book in your hands, it’s just comforting.

9. If you could live in any fictional world, where would you choose?

Wonderland.

10. And lastly just for fun, what is your favorite TV show?

I don’t really watch television, I am more of a movie person. The only show I watch is American Horror Story, and i don’t think I need a reason for that! 🙂

~ My 10 Questions ~

1. What is your favorite book turned into a movie?

2. How long have you been blogging?

3. What is your favorite book series?

4. What character do you connect with the most?

5. Do you use a bookmark or do you bend the corner of the page?

6. What genre of book would you like to live in?

7. Do you prefer to buy your books online or at an actual bookstore?

8. Where is your favorite place to read?

9. What author has the best style of writing for you?

10. What are your other hobbies or interests?

~ How My Blog Got Started ~

In May of this year I started this blog, my first and so far only. I had really never thought of myself as the blogging type, especially since I had no idea what I would blog about. In high school I was always so busy with sports (swim practice before school, school, high school soccer practice, and then traveling team soccer practice) that I barely had time to sleep. But one constant that I have always had since elementary school was that I was always reading. So now, six years out of high school, I am working like crazy and was trying to find a hobby for myself that didn’t involve typical young adult craziness (bars and partying). The obvious answer was book reviewing because nothing gets better than free copies of books! But quite quickly it turned into a yearning to help authors get more recognized, and to show other bloggers and readers their amazing work. I love giving authors feedback on their work and hearing how grateful they are to have bloggers like us around!

~ 7 Facts About Me ~

  1. I function the best when it is dark and raining out all day. It seems that most people get more done when it is sunny and the weather is nice, but me…not so much. I love the feeling of driving in the rain (because there is barely anybody else out on the road), walking in the rain, SWIMMING IN THE RAIN, or just sitting at home in my backyard listening to it. I really should move somewhere that rains more 😉
  2. A few years ago I went to a Killswitch Engage concert in San Francisco, crowd surfed to the front of the stage, and was thrown on stage with the band. They let me run around the stage causing mayhem for about two songs, gotta love them!
  3. I want to live in a house with huge windows, plants everywhere, and in the middle of nowhere. That is all.
  4. About three years ago I had neon pink hair that was so amazing that it glowed under a black light. It literally looked as if a glow stick had exploded all over my long wavy hair, it was fantastic! Now I have my natural colored hair back but it is shaved underneath.
  5. I have a seriously terrible obsession with blankets. Heavy blankets, soft blankets, small blankets, large blankets, quilts, comforters, throws…it doesn’t matter. There is about thirteen blankets currently on my bed, and they are perfectly layered in order by my favoritism of them and the feel. Which brings me to number 6.
  6. I have OCD for cleaning and organizing my things. For example: The blankets on my bed have to be spread out in a certain order, and nobody in my house is allowed to touch anything in the kitchen. Granted, I do get tired of cooking for everyone and doing all of the dishes…but at least I know everything was put back in its place and was cleaned correctly. Haha…I sound crazy lol.
  7. In my junior year of high school I was put into a creative writing class because that was the only elective that was left for me to take. I have always been great in English classes, but I had never done any creative writing up until that point. This class, and the teacher, turned out to be my FAVORITE and it left a HUGE impression on me.
